Un recuerdo de Lisboa: retratos en la ciudad

One of the best views of Lisbon is the antique Castle of São Jorge, having its first fortresses built in the year one b.c, so why not start our experience contemplating it? We'll meet in Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, which has an amazing viewpoint of the monument, and walk our way through Bairro Alto to enjoy the stunning little houses decorated with the typical portuguese azulejos, the perfect background for inspiring portraits. This walk in the neighborhood is very special because we’re surrounded by the sounds of its habitants, which are a big part of the portuguese everyday essence. We'll make our way through distinctive and authentic spots, cross the narrow yet very colorful streets and, of course, we'll be stopping occasionally to take pictures and talk a little bit about the city's history and chronological record. And then, the best way to end our little trip, we'll go down to the Ribeira das Naus and have a drink while watching the sunset in the glorious Tejo River. It's a very laid-back walk where I talk as we go and create unique portraits of you in the city. The perfect way to remember the heart of Portugal and keep it forever in your mind and soul! Wear comfortable and colorful outfits! :)

Aprende a preparar pasteles de nata en una pastelería de Lisboa

Since 2018, this is Portugal's only cooking class in a real bakery, taught by a professional pastry chef! This masterclass can be hosted by award-winning chef João Batalha, co-founder of Pastel de Nata concept store Nat'elier, or other experienced in-house pastry professionals such as chefs Silvia Sousa or Adriano Cardoso. After gearing up you'll go inside our pro kitchen where you'll learn how to bake the irresistible Portuguese Custard Tarts (aka Egg Tarts) everybody loves! The workshop starts with an intro to the history of Pastel de Nata. This is HANDS-ON experience! Unlike other Pastéis de Nata classes in Lisbon, we will show you how to make puff pastry from scratch. Afterwards, we will make the custard and bake it all inside a professional oven. During this class we all work together as a team (max. 14 people) Everyone makes at least 3 tarts by hand - learn how to laminate the dough, shape it with a specific Pastel de Nata technique, fill in the custard, etc. ☕We'll end tasting the warm tarts with a drink of choice, crafted by our baristas. If you want to have an introduction of Lisbon and learn a bit more about its history, culture and curiosities, this is the perfect tour for you. We'll visit the downtown are of Lisbon, the neighborhoods called Baixa and Chiado, which have been the meeting point of famous artists, poets and politicians since the XVIII century and are still considered to be the beating heart of Lisbon with its imposing buildings, shops, restaurants and historical monuments. You'll learn a bit more about the modern and contemporary history of Portugal, the Great Earthquake in 1755, the end of Portuguese monarchy, the change of the capital to a foreign country, the Jewish massacre, the longest dictatorship in Europe and the revolution that ended it, the tradition of the "bacalhau" and many aspects of the Portuguese culture. It´s on your hands! In a very homy way you discover how to make the pastel de nata from the scratch, including the puff pastry. It´s all handmade. First we cook it an the end we taste the delight with a Porto wine or a Ginja liquor, tchim tchim. You know that the pastel de nata recipe was created inside a monestary? I tell you the History.
