A stretch of beach between Newhaven and Seaford, this is a fascinating place - ruins of a mill, a village, and all sorts of history explained on story boards. Walk towards Seaford and you will come to the Newhaven Sailing Club with cafe and bar right on the beach
In the 1760's this was the site of a tidal mill which used the power of the tide to grind corn into flour. Now a derelict village, abandoned in 1939. At low tide there is a sandy beach, so good for children to paddle in. It was also a World War 1 seaplane station, a beach hospital, a World War 2 training ground and one of the first ever radio stations.
